Help! Regarding the bottom 3 images: One of the images I was told that I needed was a good overall story of the site plan (which I thought the physical model would show). It was mentioned that it would be helpful to pull apart the pathways, then the connection points to greater tell the story of how the 2 come together. I spent the past weekend +2 days putting together this model in Sketch Up as a tool to tell this story and this is what I get. How does this reaad to you? Any suggestions.
Regarding the top image: I did an aerial view of the portion that was more developed/designed. Does this one read any better to try to help tell the overall story? Does it read better than the other image I did for the presentation (aerial photo with highlighted journey through pathway)?
I don't feel like any of these images are telling the overall story any better than the model did...are you getting anything from these new images or did I just waste time...precious time? HELP?!
With all of this being said above - how can I show the pathing vs the connection points in a different manner that would be clearer? Also, how can I show the overall system in a clearer way - I don't have time to develop all of it to the detail that I've developed it in my "Enlarged Aerial Image" (the 3rd image from the top). I'm fresh out of ideas - any thoughts or suggestions? I'd love to hear them! =)
Margaret - deep breath! The third image down, with the paths and points in place in the city model is the view or type of view to work from. I would recommend having the same view with three different levels of filtering/finishing: A) Overall site - that's this one but add in roads, and work on legibility of existing buildings versus your new work. B) and C) Test out either turning off existing building and path/points to show us just the path or just the points OR in Photoshop grey out everything else so that we see it screened behind the elements you want to focus on. I actually think this second method might work better because it will allow us to make visual connections to what you are saying in your body text/captions about the paths and points.
